6 NIGHTS AMANKORA & 2 NIGHTS BANGKOK JOURNEY

6 NIGHTS AMANKORA & 2 NIGHTS BANGKOK JOURNEY

Bhutan is not a place to merely pass through – it’s a place to return to: to simplicity, serenity, and a timeless beauty untouched by the world. And no one unveils the true essence of this kingdom quite like Amankora – the iconic collection of lodges where luxury meets meditative calm.

The three-lodge journey through Amankora Paro – Thimphu – Punakha is a graceful symphony of nature, culture, and minimalist living. Each lodge opens a new doorway into a different face of Bhutan – subtle, soulful, and profoundly beautiful.

  • Amankora Paro: Nestled among ancient pine forests overlooking the tranquil Paro Valley, this is the perfect starting point for a spiritual journey – explore the sacred Tiger’s Nest and unwind in Aman’s signature meditative atmosphere.

  • Amankora Thimphu: A serene retreat in the highland capital, where Bhutan’s evolving culture meets timeless tradition. Its minimalist architecture and peaceful ambiance create a sense of quiet refuge.

  • Amankora Punakha: A hidden gem nestled in a subtropical valley along the Mo Chhu River. Accessed by a dreamy suspension bridge, this lodge is where romance, spirituality, and nature intertwine.

Why choose Bhutan with Amankora?

  • Understated, refined luxury: Nothing flashy – only pure, essential elegance with natural textures, earthy tones, and immersive stillness.

  • Seamless, private experiences: A worry-free journey with every detail curated – from transfers and visa handling to bespoke cultural and wellness encounters.

  • Access to authentic Bhutan: Deeply connected to local communities, sacred temples, and Bhutan’s raw, untouched landscapes – in a way few ever experience.

  • DAY 2-3: AMANKORA THIMPHU

    • Upon arrival in Amankora Thimphu, you will have time to relax before exploring Bhutan’s only city – a capital city unlike any other. Visit the Simply Bhutan Museum, Textile Museum, Weaving Centre and Paper Mill to learn more about Bhutan’s diverse cultural heritage.
    • After breakfast on Day 2, you’ll trek to Cheri Goemba, a stunning temple and monastery that served as the foundation for the Kingdom’s first monastic institution. After a picnic lunch, visit the Choki School of Art, an institution dedicated to traditional Bhutanese arts (open only on weekdays), and Pangri Zampa, a 16th-century temple complex that now serves as a training ground for astrology for monks. If you’d like, you can ask a monk to read your astrological fortune or book a private astrological reading at the lodge (fees apply).

AMANKORA PUNAKHA

1 of 4
  • DAY 4-5: AMANKORA PUNAKHA

    • On the way to Punakha Valley, we will stop at Semtokha Dzong, the country’s first fortress, and at Dochula Pass with its remarkable 108 chortens. Once in Punakha, we will visit Chimi Lhakhang, known throughout Bhutan as the Temple of Child Prayer, where devotees come to pray for children. The neighboring village is a pleasant place to wander and admire local handicrafts and folk art.
    • Day 4 begins with a hike to the Khamsum Chorten, a spectacular structure set amidst agricultural fields and terraced rice paddies, offering a great opportunity to experience local farming traditions. From the chorten’s roof, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the valley, before enjoying a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, visit Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s largest fortresses, said to have appeared in the architect’s dream in 1637. Explore its sacred halls, courtyards and arched wooden bridges, then stroll to another of the valley’s handiwork masterpieces – the world’s longest chain suspension bridge.

AMANKORA PARO

1 of 4
  • DAY 6: AMANKORA PARO

In the morning, visit one of Bhutan’s most impressive structures, Taktsang Goemba, commonly known as the Tiger’s Nest. The monastery is built into a sheer cliff at 2,950m, offering breathtaking views of the valley 900m below. Return to the lodge for a late lunch and a relaxing full body massage. Then, if you have time and energy, head to the old town of Paro to wander the shady streets lined with galleries, cafes and bookshops. In the evening, a traditional Bhutanese meal awaits you at the lodge, along with traditional gho and kira costumes if you want to dress up in style.

The next morning, you will bid farewell to Bhutan. Your driver will take you to Paro International Airport, which is approximately 30 minutes away from the resort. We recommend arriving at the airport at least two hours before departure.
