DAY 1 | START YOUR JOURNEY PUNTA ARENAS, CHILE
Your journey begins in Punta Arenas, a port city at the southern tip of Chile, along the northern shore of the Strait of Magellan. Once a Chilean penal colony, Punta Arenas has transformed into a vibrant city filled with fascinating attractions, including historic landmarks and museums. Spend the day exploring the city, then join the welcome dinner in the evening to meet your fellow Antarctic explorers.
-
DAY 2 | FLY TO KING GEORGE ISLAND & EMBARK THE SHIP
You will take a charter flight to Antarctica. The crossing of the Drake Passage takes less than 4 hours by air—compared to 2 days by ship. Your first glimpse of Antarctica comes as the plane descends over King George Island—hopefully under clear skies for a breathtaking view of the continent! You’ll have some free time to take photos and stretch your legs before boarding the ship. Once on board, enjoy your first Zodiac excursion and begin exploring the Antarctic region.
-
DAY 3 - 6 | ANTARCTIC PENINSULA & SOUTH SHETLAND ISLANDS
It will feel as though you’ve stepped onto another planet as your Antarctic adventure begins—where pristine wilderness and dramatic landscapes create a world like no other. From the ship’s deck, watch for whales feeding in the nutrient-rich waters and penguins porpoising onto floating ice. Snow-covered mountain ranges and massive glaciers of the Peninsula form your “playground” in the coming days.
Each Zodiac excursion and landing offers a fresh sensory experience—sights, sounds, and even smells unique to Antarctica. Some landings are tranquil, such as relaxing on the beach to photograph curious Gentoo penguins. Others reward you with panoramic views after a short hike uphill. You may witness ice calving at Petermann Island or embark on a Zodiac safari to spot fur seals and elephant seals around Pleneau Island.
Even simple activities like mailing a postcard become extraordinary here. While weather and sea conditions dictate landing sites, the Expedition Team ensures that every day brings unforgettable memories.

-
DAY 7 - 8 | CROSSING THE DRAKE PASSAGE BY SHIP
A rite of passage for any Antarctic adventurer, crossing the Drake signals the end of your journey. No matter the sea conditions, you will benefit from having developed your sea legs over the course of the previous four days. While the journey home has begun, your wildlife spotting continues. Your Expedition Team will be available on deck and on the ship’s bridge to help you spot the majestic wandering albatross and a number of whale species, such as minke and humpback.
When you’re not looking at photos and reminiscing about the previous days, the Expedition Team will conclude their series of engaging presentations on subjects such as marine biology, polar history and glaciology
-
DAY 9 | DISEMBARKATION THE AT ASHUAIA, ARGENTINA - END OF JOURNEY
After a final breakfast aboard the ship, say goodbye to your crew as we disembark in Ushuaia. We’ll transfer you to the hotel to check in and then you’ll have a chance to explore the town on your own to shop, sightsee and sample some Argentinian cuisine.
