PROJECTED ITINERARY

  • DAY 1: ARRIVE IN REYKJAVIK, ICELAND

    Upon arrival at Keflavik International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in Reykjavik. Depending on your arrival time, you are free to explore the city centre with its cultural and historical sites.

  • DAY 2: EXPLORE REYKJAVIK AND GET READY FOR THE JOURNEY

    You will have the morning to explore Reykjavik and have lunch on your own. In the afternoon, the bus will take you to the port to board the Ultramarine, starting the journey.

  • DAY 3: SNAEFELLSNES PENINSULA

    Disembark the Ultramarine and travel by coach to the stunning Snaefellsnes peninsula.

    Here you'll visit Kirkjufell ("Church Mountain"), the setting for the Kirkjufellsfoss waterfall, and can visit small fishing villages like Arnarstapi, Grundarfjörður and Stykkishólmur.

    Other activities include hiking along the coastal cliffs to see the Arnarstapi rock arch, visiting the Bjarnarhöfn Shark Museum and sampling Icelandic food, including hakarl (fermented shark).

  • DAYS 4 - 6: WESTFJORDS

    The expedition will explore the remote Westfjords region, famous for its breathtaking fjord and mountain scenery.

    Visitors have the opportunity to take a Zodiac boat cruise, go ashore with a guide and have the possibility of a scenic helicopter flight.

    Visits may include the island farm at Vigur , the bird cliffs at Látrabjarg (home to puffins, uria, fulmars and razorbills), and the Heritage Museum at Hnjótur .

  • DAYS 7 - 8: NORTHERN ICELAND AND THE ARCTIC CIRCLE

    The journey continues into North Iceland, following the Diamond Circle route. You will see impressive waterfalls such as Dettifoss, Goðafoss and Aldeyjarfoss.

    You'll also explore the Kolugljúfur and Jökulsárgljúfur canyons, the Hvítserk and Stórakarl sea stacks, Ásbyrgi Canyon, the geological wonders of Mývatn and the Dimmuborgir lava fields.

    Other highlights include the bubbling mud pits at Hverir and the faux volcanic craters at Skútustaðir . The trip crosses the Arctic Circle with a visit to the island of Grímsey.

  • DAY 9 - 10: EASTERN ICELAND AND VATNAJÖKULL NATIONAL PARK

    The expedition moved to East Iceland, characterized by deep fjords and high mountains.

    You will have the opportunity to take a scenic helicopter flight (weather permitting) and a coach tour to Vatnajökull National Park.

    Activities in the park include visiting the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon , exploring icebergs, spending time at Diamond Beach , and taking guided glacier walks in the Skaftafell area.

  • DAY 11: WESTMAN ISLANDS

    The journey continues to the Westman Islands, an archipelago with rich bird fauna, including a large puffin population.

    You'll visit Heimaey, the only inhabited island, to see puffins at Stórhöfði. There's also a beluga whale sanctuary and an aquarium to visit.

  • DAY 12: DISMISSAL IN REYKJAVIK

    You will disembark in Reykjavik. For those with post-expedition reservations, there will be a shuttle service to a downtown location.
