PROJECTED ITINERARY

  • DAY 1: VIETNAM - BANGKOK

    • Flights from Vietnam - Bangkok
    • Stay at Courtyard Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport Hotel
  • DAY 2: BANGKOK - PARO AIRPORT - SIX SENSES THIMPHU

    • The Bangkok - Paro flight departs early in the morning.

    • After arriving at Paro International Airport, your journey begins with a drive to Thimphu (about 1 hour), the capital of Bhutan. At an altitude of 7,700 ft (2,200 m), Thimphu is located in a steep valley and is the only city in the world without a single traffic light.

    • Stay at Six Senses Thimphu, located at 9,040 feet (2,755 meters) on the property’s 15 acres to acclimatize to the altitude. The lodge is perched high above the valley floor, overlooking apple orchards and young pine forests. With captivating views of Buddha Dordenma, the world’s tallest seated Buddha, the location offers the perfect escape from the capital but is still close enough to explore its many attractions. Take a dip in the indoor pool, wander around the lodge’s grounds, or relax on your balcony.

    • Dine al fresco on the resort’s sunken terrace and sample some of the delicious dishes prepared by the Six Senses culinary team. Made with organic ingredients picked fresh from the resort’s garden, the menu is delicious and healthy, inspired by the Eat With Six Senses philosophy.

    • If you are energetic enough, you can visit the 52-meter-tall Buddha Dordenma statue in Thimphu. Step inside and explore 125,000 smaller Buddha statues. You can choose to take a gentle walk to Changangkha Lhakhang to relieve your jet lag.

    • Visit the Six Senses Spa for a relaxing Jet Lag Massage or one of the many other treatments on offer to help you enjoy your vacation. (All recommended spa treatments are optional and can be booked in advance.)

Join Thimphu residents in koras and circumambulate the Memorial Chorten.

    • End the day at Tashichho Dzong, Thimphu's impressive fortress that houses the throne room and offices of the King and head of the country's religious order.

    • If time permits, you can take a quick walk back to the lodge to Lungsigang, a simple yet charming picnic spot to enjoy late afternoon tea along with a selection of Bhutanese snacks (optional activity at an additional charge)
